About Our School

School Day

The Museum Academy offers students in PreK-Grade 5 an education outside the traditional learning environment. By opening up the worlds of history, visual arts, living museums, performances and exhibition, students have the space to develop their own curiosity about the world in which we live.

Our curriculum is based on the 5E Inquiry Model, which encourages students to Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate, so they can become critical thinkers and active learners. The Academy is a community dedicated to fostering learning experiences for all students in a culturally diverse school community.

Our School

Museum Academy is dedicated to educating the whole child through exploration, inquiry- based learning, and the arts.  The incorporation of the arts across the curriculum with visual and hands on practices is the key to developing life-long problem solving and critical thinking skills.  CREC Museum Academy exhibitions allow students to display, showcase, and present their learning to new audiences.

Our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) School-Wide Expectations are aligned with our school charter and are delineated throughout the school.  Students are recognized daily for demonstrating our core behaviors. The Culture & Climate/PBIS Committee plan various ways to celebrate student successes and provide opportunities to reinforce school expectations. The Academy encourages each individual to shine through acts of respect, responsibility and safety.

Mission Statement

Museum Academy fosters independent thinking in a creative and challenging museum-based environment by providing an innovative curriculum infused with art, museum partnerships and museum methods. Our school is a safe, supportive environment where every child is a masterpiece.

Vision Statement
Museum Academy strives to create an environment that instills curiosity, nurtures creative problem solving, cultivates critical thinkers and embraces cultural awareness in ways that bring success to all students.
